Do's and Don'ts
✅ Do’s
• Follow all safety instructions given by staff or instructors before throwing.
• Wait your turn — only one person in the throwing lane at a time.
• Stay behind the safety line until the axe has been retrieved and the lane is clear.
• Use proper grip and stance to avoid wild throws.
• Wear closed-toe shoes and avoid loose clothing that could interfere with throwing.
• Respect the equipment — don’t bang axes together, throw excessively hard, or misuse them.
• Communicate clearly with your group when retrieving axes to avoid confusion.
• Cheer and encourage others — keep the atmosphere positive and fun.
• Handle axes responsibly when walking to and from the lane (blade down, not swinging).
❌ Don’ts
• Never cross into another lane while someone else is throwing.
• Don’t throw until the lane is clear — safety always comes first.
• Don’t throw multiple axes at once or attempt trick shots without guidance.
• Never retrieve axes until both throwers have finished in dual-lane setups.
• Don’t hog the lane — share time fairly with your group.
• Avoid aggressive behavior — keep competition friendly and respectful.
Extra Tips for First-Timers
• Listen to the coach — they’ll help you with technique and safety.
• Start with controlled throws rather than power; accuracy matters more than force.
• Celebrate responsibly — hitting the bullseye is exciting, but keep it safe.
